Students and Temporary Graduates
Applicable Visa: 500, 485
To apply for a 485 visa, you must have finished a degree, diploma or trade qualification.
For instance, a student may complete two consecutive Diploma level courses in order to satisfy the Australian study requirement under the Graduate Work stream.
We can explain all the requirements you might need to meet the Government demands.
Be very careful
Bad advice could lead you to lose time and money.
Be very careful of the advice you are given as Covid-19 has seen international students drop significantly, which has affected many businesses. This has resulted in people being provided incorrect advice which is at times unscrupulous.
Someone recently asked us what to study so they could use that to apply for PR in 2 years.
We refused to answer, as no-one can know know what the occupation lists or the legislation will be at that time.
Everything can be subject to change.
What if I already have a 485 visa?
The 485 post study work visa (PSW) does let you stay at least 2 years after you complete a minimum of 2 years study at University in any course.
If studying in VET (Vocational Education and Training) sector limited courses may lead to 18 month 485 visa.
The 485 visa is an excellent option to provide full-time work rights. During that period, consider options for other visas if you can.
If you study in a field that you want to work in, you may be more likely to find work. Most visas require both qualifications and work experience.
Note: We are not education agents
Education agents receive commissions from education providers which is why they prepare your Student visa application for "free". So do some migration agents and lawyers.
Education agents are NOT permitted to provide any Migration advice or assistance except for Student visas.
Make sure you do your own research on courses and providers.
